Subject: [Bug 379154] Re: partitioning during installation will crash
mynotebook

I still don't quite understand the answers. I have looked and can not
find this image:

    (x)ubuntu 8.04 and 9.04

Can you be specific please. Which image are you trying to install from?
Are you partitioning before the installation? Is your disk an internal
or external hard disk? Is it USB?

Status in “linux” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
I found out that I could never install (x)ubuntu 8.04 or 9.04 (neither way,
that is using full disk or another partition). It was crashing in the
process of partioning my hard disk.
I then went back to xubuntu 7.1, which did install sucessfully.
I then again tried to do an update and go for xubuntu 9.04.
Again it crashed when trying to write the new split partition to the disk.
My disk is 40GBytes, processor AMD Athlon on a Targa Notebook.
