I think I've found my solution. Somewhere on the Internet someone suggested adding an NvAGP line to xorg.conf. I tried this and it seems to work for me on both Hibernate and Suspend. No twitchyness thus far, but I have yet to comb the log files for gotchas.
I reinstalled the non-free Nvidia Driver. Nvidia X Server Settings tool tells me this laptop has a Quadro FX Go700 GPU. Here's the relevant section from xorg.conf. Added the NvAGP option. Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" Driver "nvidia" Option "NoLogo" "True" Option "NvAGP" "3" EndSection References: http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/173.14.18/README/chapter-01.html man -k nvidia ** Package changed: pm-utils (Ubuntu) => xorg (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- desktop freezes on resume from hibernation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/352948 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
