I have new netbook Mivvy L310 with Ubuntu Linux 8.04 pre-installed (!).
I installed latest version (9.04) but this bug is still on. When I
switch netbook on, it takes between half minute and 1 minute while this
message is displayed before boot process continue. Needless to say, very
fast boot of 9.04 version is useless now. This pause definitely should
be removed. There is nothing user can do with it anyway and netbook
functions perfectly once it goes away. Upgrading BIOS (of a new
computer) does not sound like sane workaround to me.
