UPDATE - now, I noticed serveral suggestions for startup kernel params
on this and other posts and I tried two of them simultaneously and sound
has returned!! One is "pci=noacpi" and the other was "pci=biosirq".
Now, I enabled BOTH of them at the same time. Sound is now working. So,
I don't know which of the two, fi only one of them, is responsible. May
be both. But, with working sound, I'm not changing a thing :-)
