Florian and Jukka, if you still want to pursue a solution to this issue, I've got a couple of suggestions to try.
The first is to capture the output of a failing resume with netconsole, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/Netconsole. Since it is a regression (for Florian at least) it might also be possible to bisect which specific change to the kernel that caused the issue, but it is a lengthy process and requires that you are not afraid of building your own kernel.
