Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic
Hi! After an Intrepid => Jaunty upgrade this weekend, my HP 2050eg laptop started to reach critical temperature often. This happened during normal operation, but for reproducing the problem, I've used cpuburn/burnK7 to provoke the problem. The attached script starts two instances of burnK7, and keeps monitoring the system temperature. 2.6.27-11 2.6.27-14 both survived for quite some time without problems. (the 2.6.27-14 logs are fewer because it was the first kernel I tested) 2.6.28-11 kernel shutdowns under one minute from starting the burnK7 processes. 2.6.28-11 with powersave/800MHz locked in seems to be able to survive the burning too. Thanks, Andreas ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- kernel 2.6.28-11-generic overheats => shutdowns. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/378065 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
