** Description changed: I've just installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my laptop and have some problems with sound. It plays only through internal speakers. When i connect earphones or external speakers they do not work at all and sound keeps going through internal speakers. When im trying to change Sound Preferences from Autodetect to HDA NVidia ALC861VD Analog (ALSA), getting this errors: audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink: Could not open audio device for playback. And with HDA NVidia ALC861VD Analog (ALSA) i have no sound at all. + + When added + options snd-hda-intel model=hp + to + /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf + Everything seems to work Ok. + But i expect it to be working out of the box.
