Yes, I did a fresh install of 9.04, installed everything in the update
manager, then made the xorg.conf changes, installed fixmtrr.sh, the X
updates, and the 2.6.29.3 kernel.  Performance was worse than a clean
install with just the lp349314 kernel posted in this thread and no other
changes.  (5fps vs 14fps in ppracer, and choppy/unplayable World of Goo
demo vs smooth and playable.)  The "Bleeding-edge" X updates and
2.6.30-rc5 kernel weren't any better either.
