This bug also affects me, and makes it impossible to open some PDF files with evince. Here is another example of a file which triggers this problem: http://www.ens.fr/concours/Rapports/2006/INFO/mp_math_mpi2_06.pdf
A possible workaround is to convert the file to Postscript using pdf2ps.
