I had the same problem today. Was bound to upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 server because of no more repositories access. The Cups server, when I try to administer from remote, asks user/password then hangs forever.
Lost a tremendous amount of time trying different configurations, reading manuals etc.etc. Many people seem to have the same problem but nobody seems to take seriously. (LTS = Long Time Sleep ?) But do we really need CUPS to manage printer spooler? Plz give us back old bsd printers and leave cups to paranhoic fellows so fond of security as to impair themselves from administering their own printers (this is the most secured indeed). -- cups remote https administration hangs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218663 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
