Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kile
The embedded viewer in Kile relies on the kviewerpart.so (DVI) and libkghostviewlib.so.0 (PDF) libraries, which are not available anymore in Ubuntu 9.04. Since the embedded viewer was the default in earlier versions, upgrading to 9.04 will render Kile unusable for any technically unexperienced user. Trying to view a DVI or PDF will always terminate with an unhelpful error message ("Could not find kviewerpart library" or "Could not find libkghostviewlib library"). The very least that should be done would be to point out in the error message that the user needs to configure Kile to use an external viewer. ** Affects: kile (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- kile embedded viewer not working after upgrade to 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/375913 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
