Currently I'm using 8.10 and linux-image-2.6.23-generic on my D810. After quite some googeling I found the following command that fixed the issue for me:
amixer -c 0 cset numid=35 6 %% 6 = 96kHz Unfortunately I'm not sure what it exactly does. The following may help to locate the problem: amixer -c 0 cget numid=35 numid=35,iface=MIXER,name='IEC958 Playback Default' ; type=IEC958,access=rw------,values=1 : values=[AES0=0x00 AES1=0x00 AES2=0x00 AES3=0x00] -- Dell Latitude D600: D/Port audio sounds terrible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201506 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
