Hi, after updating to Kubuntu 9.04 Kernel 2.6.28-11-generic using driver radeon or fglrx I cannot even get my X-Server up and running. After starting kdm there was only black sceene. (Ati Mobility Radeon HD 3400 series). I can only use the vesa-driver. When I go back to my last Kernel 2.6.24-23-generic, I can use the radeon driver in Kubuntu 9.04. I am Newby with Linux and I think, I should wait for another Kernel in Kubuntu, before updating the kernel again. In hardy I could use enyng to get the fglrx-driver working good.
