I tried: sudo echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/iwlagn/0000\:03\:00.0/rfkill/rfkill0/state
with the result: /sys/bus/pci/drivers/iwlagn/0000:03:00.0/rfkill/rfkill0/state: Permission denied I also tried installing the linux-backports-modules-jaunty package but it doesn't help. After rebooting, wireless still doesn't work, so I tried: ~$ modprobe iwlagn WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper, it will be ignored in a future release. ~$ dmesg | grep iwlagn [ 8.947476] iwlagn: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link AGN driver for Linux, 1.3.27ks [ 8.947478] iwlagn: Copyright(c) 2003-2009 Intel Corporation [ 8.947591] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17 [ 8.947621] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: setting latency timer to 64 [ 8.947687] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Detected Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5300AGN REV=0x24 [ 8.966458] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Tunable channels: 13 802.11bg, 24 802.11a channels [ 8.966513] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: irq 2296 for MSI/MSI-X [ 16.182149] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: firmware: requesting lbm-iwlwifi-5000-1.ucode [ 16.318506] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: loaded firmware version 5.4.1.16 [ 16.318716] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Radio disabled by HW RF Kill switch -- wireless not working in 9.04 RC on HP EliteBook 6930p https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/364174 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
