thank you for opening this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. I have
tried this, and had no issues at all, with ffox, epiphany, gedit, and
vim.

I would like you to repeat it, as follows:

1. edit /etc/default/apport ('sudo <editor> /etc/default/apport'; replace 
'<editor>' by your preferred editor, like vi
2. change 'enabled' from 0 to 1;
3. save the file & exit the editor.
4. now trigger the event; for the sake of simplicity, please do not use ffox, 
so that we get a, er, simpler crash;
5. The application should crash, and apport processing will be triggered; when 
requested to, please go ahead and open new bug; 
6. update this bug (374710), and add in the bug number just created;
7. Again, edit /etc/default/apport, and change 'enabled' back to 0.
