Yes, it's most likely that issue (marking as dup). Note that using the X
server version in the nobackfill PPA will introduce momentary graphics
corruption / noise but it will run faster with no such pauses. If your
card is supported by the -ati driver that might give you the best of
both worlds (no corruption and no performance problems).
