ok i tried the following method, mentioned above: wget ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/185.18.04/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-185.18.04-pkg1.run sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop sudo sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-185.18.04-pkg1.run sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start
but it didn't work. i am seeing this message in the kernel log: NVRM: API mismatch: the client has the version 185.18.04, but NVRM: this kernel module has the version 180.51.
