Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-wlan-ng

Thanks and greetings to all who contribute to this wonderful community
:-) I am not sure of the package about which is bug is reported. Please
change it if you find it suitable.

I installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my new Samsung NC20 laptop. The installation
program detected my WLAN card as Atheros. I can see this card in
System>Administratio>Hardware. There is also a green tick mark with
them. But I do not see any WLAN options on my network icon. I tried to
set it manually too. Then I ran ifconfig and iwconfig from the command
prompt. I did not see WLAN in both cases. Please let me know if I could
be of any help to make my WLAN work out of the box with all new versions
of Ubuntu.
