Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

Sound was working perfectly when I just installed jaunty, but then after the
most recent update to pulseaudio 0.9.14, my sound card stopped working, in
volumn control it says "Null Output (PulseAudio Mixer)"
I tried to test in System->Preferences->Sound->Devices for ALSA and OSS, i got
the error msg
"audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample !
gconfaudiosink: Could not open audio device for playback."
and
"audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample !
gconfaudiosink: Could not open audio device for playback. You don't have
permission to open the device."

I have tried to enable "use sound devices" in User Privileges settings
but it didn't help.

"lspci | grep Audio" gives me "00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies
Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)" so I guess the driver is working properly.

** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
