Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem
Ubuntu 8.04 powerpc. Totem Movie Player. Alsa v.19 Up until the system update of 5 May 2009 totem worked fine. Following this update totem and vlc both hang after a variable number of seconds of playing. This is similar to what happens on a powerpc when 8.04 + alsa is first installed and was solved up to this point by installing alsa v.19. (known bug in alsa v.15, fixed in v.16) I re-installed the latest version of alsa but to no avail. If I re-boot and choose the boot option old instead of Linux then the system works fine. uname -a Linux ubuntu 2.6.24-24-powerpc #1 Wed Apr 15 15:11:46 UTC 2009 ppc GNU/Linux ProblemType: Bug Architecture: powerpc Date: Fri May 8 09:14:00 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/totem-gstreamer Package: totem-gstreamer 2.22.1-0ubuntu3 PackageArchitecture: powerpc ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: totem Uname: Linux 2.6.24-24-powerpc ppc ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- Movie Player hangs after playing for a few seconds https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/373574 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
