Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 9.04 Gnome 2.26.1 Kernel 2.6.28-11-generic metacity 2.25.144 Reproduction of bug: 1) Workspace Switcher initially has 4 Columns and 1 Row. 2) I keep nautilus file browser open on Workspace 1 3) I keep firefox open on Workspace 3 4) Now change Workspace Switcher preferences from 1 row to 2 rows. So that makes 4 Columns and 2 Rows. 5) Use Expo to navigate to Workspace 5 (6,7, or 8), i.e. any workspace on Row 2. 6) Change the Workspace Switcher preferences from 2 rows back to 1 row. That makes it 4 Columns and 1 Row. What happened: The nautilus and firefox appear to have disappeared, but they are just way up on the screen (The window edge is sometimes noticeable in the Workspace Switcher). This gives the impression to the user that the applications have been closed. Changing preferences of Workspace Switcher back to 2 rows from 1 row helps get back the open applications. What should have happened: The open applications should have seamlessly been transferred to active Workspaces, giving the user the impression that Workspace Switcher was smart enough to manage workspaces. Very trivial bug for experienced ubuntu users, but new users will feel that the system crashed. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Expo plugin and Workspace Switcher hides applications/windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/373565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
