I think this bug is the same that I reported in https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+bug/371062
The most likely problem is that you selected VNC as an additional service, and used non-alphanumeric characters in your password. This crashes the installer when it configures vnc before it installs grub. The solution is to not select vnc during installation, or select it and choose a password that only has alphanumeric characters in it.
