I agree with TBerk that there should be a genuine 'pause' function, which currently acts like a 'stop' instead. One should be able to pause a movie at any point in the stream, have it continue buffering, and then be able to resume from the time paused.
Alternatively, but not as good, would be to be able to manually set a buffer size.
