Seb, I still have the problem on 9.04.
I have no idea how to reproduce the bug. I noticed it a couple of years ago, when I couldn't get rid of a contact. Deleting worked, but after restarting Pidgin, the contact would be back again. Now I have four contacts that I can't delete. When setting an alias and deleting the contact, the contact is restored without the alias. It might be that the contact is not deleted from the server.
