When the fixed FF appears in the Dapper updates, one has just to remove the symlink /usr/local/bin/firefox and start using the native FF build. According to the numerous posts at ubuntuforums.org, the crash doesn't affect only mailman lists, but also other login pages -- a situation that the current official FF build manages without any complaints, so far.
