I can't switch to a text console once the laptop locks up.? Unfortunately everything locks and I have to do a hard reboot (hold the power switch down for 4 sec).? Is there a particular log file that would show me the problem?? Or, is there a way to turn on some type of extensive logging that will capture the incident?? So far the laptop has frozen while running Firefox, LOTRO under Wine, and OpenOffice.? It appears to crash more often when I have multiple applications open, such as switching between OpenOffice and Firefox.

Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. Next time this happens, can you switch to a text console by hitting CTRL + ALT + F1, login there, and then run sudo apport-collect -l linux 363787 thanks ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- laptop locks up, appears to be at random https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363787 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- laptop locks up, appears to be at random https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363787 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
