Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
While attempting to upgrade to Jaunty, I get the following error: > Not enough free disk space > > The upgrade is now aborted. The upgrade needs a total of 768M free > space on disk '/'. Please free at least an additional 434M of disk > space on '/'. Empty your trash and remove temporary packages of > former installations using 'sudo apt-get clean'. The problem with this is that I have plenty of space in /usr, as can be shown by this df output: > Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on > /host/ubuntu/disks/root.disk > 6728592 6025372 361424 95% / > tmpfs 1531780 0 1531780 0% /lib/init/rw > varrun 1531780 212 1531568 1% /var/run > varlock 1531780 0 1531780 0% /var/lock > udev 1531780 2784 1528996 1% /dev > tmpfs 1531780 132 1531648 1% /dev/shm > /dev/sda2 92601340 65487824 27113516 71% /host > lrm 1531780 2384 1529396 1% > /lib/modules/2.6.27-14-generic/volatile > /dev/loop1 5768304 2984956 2490332 55% /usr Why do I have usr mounted separately? It was a work around to add more space to my wubi install... Anyway, ideally, the upgrade manager would first consider all mount points before doing its space requirements calculation.
