I'm using Gnome as window manager. In previous versions of Ubuntu I never had such problems. In fact the application is not killed, it just disappears from the avant-window-manager. I already removed the default task bar with open applications, so I can't see my application anymore when moving it to another desktop. Another symptom is that the awn always thinks that I'm on Desktop 1 even when I'm 100% sure that I'm on another desktop.
