Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: fast-user-switch-applet

The applet doesn't take me offline when I use it's suspend option,
leaving the protocols in a weird state until they realize you were
reconnected when you suspend/resume.

Atm a workaround is to manually go fusa -> offline, fusa -> suspend,
resume, fusa -> back to status I had.
