As requested in steps on https:/wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingHal - here is the required information.
Steps taken 1 Plugged in phone using USB cable supplied with phone (Sony Ericsson V640i) to my laptop (IBM T30) 2 Phone displays an options menu - USB modes. 3 Options are 1-Phone mode 2-Media transfer 3-Print 4-Mass storage 4 I chose 4-Mass storage as I think this is the 'most compatible' 5 The new device notifier (KDE) informs me that there is a phone and phone card option. (this is the first time the device notifier has informed me that the phone is connected - previously it would not display anything. 6 I use dolphin to view the phone and or the card. 7 Error - org.desktop.dbus.error.Noreply Attachments 1 /tmp/hal.log 2 /var/log/kern.log 3 /tmp/lshal.txt If there is anything further I can do, I would be pleased to do it to help resolve this issue. Thanks for your time and effort with this issue Regards MATT ** Attachment added: "Hal log after plugging in Sony Ericsson V640i" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26165421/hal.log -- Sony Ericsson V640i not detected when plugged in via USB https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/344150 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
