I can fully agree on the fact that this bug report, brainstorm, or the forums for that matter; are highly biased on a matter such as this. But until someone is able to display good evidence that the unrepresented part of the user-base thinks otherwise, the feedback here is the only thing you have to go by. You cannot claim that 'the users who are not writing here thinks differently' without pointing to conclusive evidence that this is the case.
The picture I get at the moment is that the developers have a 'hunch' that this is the way to go, with few clear arguments for support, whereas the majority of the users who take the time to provide feedback, think it is not, and is able to provide several, and clearer, arguments for it.
