Public bug reported: Binary package hint: irqbalance
The irqbalance in Ubuntu is very outdated and cannot cope with kernels 2.6.19 or later, nor with Xen virtualization. In addition the really old irqbalance version is not aware of things like dual core (let alone quad core) or NUMA. The latest version of irqbalance can be found at http://www.irqbalance.org and resolves all these issues.
