I had rain, wipers and water effect - for alerts, like nulling the terminal or other window triggers - working in some Development (alpha) release of 9.04, unfortunately couldn't tell you which one. I also would not know how to go about debugging such a thing. Which leads me to state that <b>none</b> of the water effect is working for me with an NVidia 7150 on board 630i chipset running an upgraded final release of Ubuntu 9.04...from I believe an original 8.04 release.
