@hervey: Your card is well supported by the open source driver including 3d support. There is no reason to be angry at AMD, they are doing excellent work in supporting the open source community by publishing chip data sheets and helping the open source driver developers. I for my part am very happy that AMD positions the open source driver as the primary choice for AMD graphic cards.
