I updated to JauntyJackelope, 9.04, and my sound is fine coming out of either my front port or my back port via my headphones. So the 1984a card is supported with JauntyJackelope. (as was already known in the world)
I also want to put a pause on my statement above that sound does not work with HardyHeron installed. During the last 6 or so weeks, my external speakers broke and I don't know when, so I no longer have any confidence in what I said earlier on 4/1/2009.
