I have similar problem on similar notebook (Samsung R510 with nvidia 9200GS
graphic card.
I'm using 64bit version of Ubuntu with nvidia 180.44 drivers.
Wireless chipset is atheros ar242x (or ar5007 according to windows) with ath5
drivers I believe.

The only difference is that for me it reboots every hibernation i do since
Intrepid. Additionally after installing jaunty it somehow turned off my
wireless chipset/card and it didn't worked at all before I hibernated and
restored Vista (I did it with no reason other than hey! it hibernation, faulty
hibernation turned off, working might turn it on ;) ). Haven't tried suspending
the system, but in intrepid was almost working except that wireless chipset
frezzed (using madifi then).
For me it seems like nvidia's driver fault, as I seen some error in console
during this hibernation.
Whatever coused this problem, it might be related to this bug
