Here it is :

# /etc/pam.d/common-auth - authentication settings common to all services
#
# This file is included from other service-specific PAM config files,
# and should contain a list of the authentication modules that define
# the central authentication scheme for use on the system
# (e.g., /etc/shadow, LDAP, Kerberos, etc.). The default is to use the
# traditional Unix authentication mechanisms.
#
auth requisite pam_unix.so nullok_secure
auth optional pam_smbpass.so migrate missingok

Libpam-modules : release 0.99.7.1-5
libpam0g : release 0.99.7.1-5
sudo : 1.6.9

The problem hasn't happened since last time. The "Conversation error"
was due to the fact that after I tried unsuccessfully to login 2 or 3
times I did ctrl+c to quit and try again.
