Thanks for your bug. If the system crash that's likely to not be a totem
bug, whatever an application does it should not crash something else
than the application, your issue might be with the videodriver you are
using. Could you attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and you
/var/log/Xorg.0.log to the bug? Do you have anything to
/var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog about the crash? Do you use totem-
gstreamer or totem-xine?
