Public bug reported: Hello,
Using brand-new, clean, Ubuntu 9.04 final: I have a problem with my external USB disk on reboot. Well, actually, on boot. It's an USB disk with external power supply. If the USB disk is powered on at boot, it will show up in 'lsusb'-output, but no device will be created in '/dev/ '. Once I power down and then restore power on the USB disk, an entry in '/dev/ ' is created and the USB disk is automatically mounted. This turned out to be true, so, when I boot with my USB disk powered on, it isn't recognized. When I do a manual 'modprobe usb_storage', an entry in '/dev/ ' is created and the USB disk is mounted. For now I have added 'usb_storage' to '/etc/modules' but it would be nice if this step wasn't necessary in the future! ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- USB disk shows in 'lsusb' but not in '/dev/' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/366381 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
