I'm a bit reluctant to test this out on Jaunty, as I have put a
significant amount of work into the configuration of this system.  I'm
using restricted graphics drivers and I don't expect them to work
right in Jaunty for a little while since Xorg has been upgraded again.
 I think I would have to immediately revert to an earlier version.

I can say that the linux-rt kernel panic problem has been eliminated
on this machine in 8.04 hardy heron.
