I'm marking the ubuntu-release-notes task invalid here. Whatever problems people are having with shutting down in jaunty, this doesn't appear to be generalizable, or even understood well enough that we could tell users anything useful about it in the release notes at this point. We don't want this to turn into a meta-bug attracting comments from anyone who has any sort of problem with their system not powering off, because there are many possible causes for such a bug that may be completely unrelated to one another.
If further diagnosis is done on this bug so that it's better understood, we can revisit the question of including it in the release notes; but currently, there appear to be three different bugs being described in this one bug report alone. ** Changed in: ubuntu-release-notes Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- Jaunty & Interpid: won't power off on shutdown or reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/326988 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
