** Description changed:

  After upgrading my laptop from 8.04 to 8.10 the graphic is all weird. It
  starts with the login screen at which time the colors change to false
  colors and the screen starts to flicker (this does not happen with
  windows, the screen is fine)
  
  I tried a driver which was offered for sis to solve a similar problem in
  7.04 but then it crashed completely and now ubuntu runs only in low-
  graphics mode. restoring the old xorg.conf does'nt change anything
  either.
