** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati I installed Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha6 this weekend on my "new" IBM ThinkPad T60 with ATI X1400 (dedicated 128MB RAM) and getting some strange screen/graphics errors as seen below. I deactivated compiz to make sure it was not fault. It came preinstalled with Windows XP and I did not notice any errors like this - but I surely did not use it long enough to say this isn't some hardware caused failure. I am not sure, but I have seen similar errors on my old fujitsu amila a7600 with older video-ati drivers at that time, so my first conclusion was some driver problems. Are these errors somehow known / familiar ? They come and go.. not really disturbing but I'd do better without them ;) + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/PM/GMS, 943/940GML and 945GT Express Memory Controller Hub [8086:27a0] (rev 03) + Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:2015] + 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility X1400 [1002:7145] + Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:2006]
