This is definitely a bug and not a question. There is a setting somewhere, apparently unexposed by the configuration interface, that significantly changes the behaviour of the applicaiton. I'm sure users aren't supposed to wipe out their profiles and start from scratch on every version of Ubuntu. What do you need to diagnose it? Since I haven't used this application before I assume the problem is somwhere in window management itself (metacity?).
