I am running Jaunty RC on a live CD in order to create a live USB. I have downloaded a newer Jaunty ISO from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily- live/current/ (the version I am trying to install is 4-19-2009's daily- live build.)
I don't know if the problem is related to the same issue, but when I run the usb-creator from the Jaunty RC cd (version 0.1.11 I believe), the entire system hangs at 36% complete during "creating persistence file".
