Partly good news on this bug: I've sound for now with 2.6.28-22 kernel, although weaker than with 2.6.27-11 kernel.
The problem was that with the newest kernel the two "Analog loopback" channels were unmuted, and this lead to no audio at all (at least in my laptop, a HP Pavilion dv7). But I've noticed that now the sound volume is smaller than with the old kernel, and the mixer's channels are sort of messed up: for example, the PCM channel used to have a "mute" checkbox, but now is gone, and also the PCM slider control doesn't change the volume at all. Perhaps the cause is a misdetection of the soundcard "model". I've to further investigate loading snd-hda-intel module with different model names, as suggestes in the ALSA Wiki: http://alsa.opensrc.org/Hda More on that later. -- No sound after upgrading Intrepid to Jaunty beta https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362444 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
