I use Kmail with Kubuntu Edgy and I don't have this problem. Most of the
mails are displayed correctly no matter what charset is used (iso8859-1,
iso8859-15, utf-8, windows-1252... ).
Could you please check your Kmail settings concerning encoding (in
appareance --> message window) and what charset is used in the incoming
mails involved with this issue. (just type V in Kmail to see it).
