I have discovered what I guess is a "work around". In System>Administration>Printing, I right click on the printer icon and select Properties. Under Device URI, I click "Change". After a period of waiting, the computer seems to set a new URI and then all is well... for a while. What is happening in the meanwhile that causes the printer to become non-op, I don't know. -Doug
