.... maybe some bios incompatibility? searching google for my problem i've found a lot of similar problems which had been related to incompatibility with dell pc's. This pc motherboard is an Ecs and i've checked my son's pc where just a few days ago i've added an hd where i had cloned the edgy partition from this pc .... edgy on that machine does not show the problem i've had here, its motherboard is a msi. anyway, the monitor on that pc is a modern one, a philips 170s
