Haven't tried other's. Only log into Googletalk but have never tried to
receive or send through there.

Protocol?  Forgive my ignorance.  I'm a bit new to this and to Ubuntu.  Been
on Windows toooooo long.  Linux requires a bit more in depth knowledge than
I am capable of at this time.  I would be happy to let you know if you can
tell me how to find that.
